Buy an Egg

About the Pysansky

All pysanky shown have been donated by the local artists participating who constitute the Peaceanky collective. The majority of eggs were crafted in March 2022 in response to the invasion of Ukraine, and some are cherished heirlooms made over the past few decades that the artists have lovingly donated.

How It Works

The eggs will be available for purchase beginning on March 24.  Click HERE to join our mailing list for updates and reminders about the auction.

Once the auction is live, choose an egg whose design you like and click on it to go to the auction page. You can bid or “buy it now.” Either way, feel great about your participation: we are donating 100% of proceeds directly to our chosen charity, and eBay will not take any fees from the final cost.

How to Bid on Eggs

Most eggs start at $49. Large goose eggs start at $86. Donated antique and original Ukrainian pysansky start at higher prices. You may choose to add incrementally to the current bid or use the “Buy It Now” option.

Where to Retrieve Your Eggs

Many of the eggs will be on display at the storefront at 2946 College Ave in Berkeley in the heart of the Elmwood district from Thursday, March 17th to Sunday, April 10th, 2022. We will have a closing party on Monday, April 11th to hand eggs to winning bidders. Any eggs that cannot be picked up at that time will be held at Vintage Berkeley across the street. Unfortunately, we are not set up to ship individual eggs.

What If I Don’t Really Want an Egg?

Go ahead and bid on an egg anyway! You can increase the value of your donation in support of Ukraine like this: If you win, you can donate the egg to another folk art exhibit or fundraiser. For example, we can offer the egg to our sister project, Pysanky for Peace in New York. They are looking for eggs and would like to collect 100,000 of them!

Of course, you may also donate directly to Nova Ukraine.
